Kids DIY Workshop: Testing Model Structures
Join us for a fun DIY workshop in which students will learn how engineers design and construct buildings to withstand earthquake damage by building their own model structures using toothpicks and marshmallows. Once the structure is built, we will then experiment to see how earthquake-proof the buildings are by testing them in an earthquake simulated in a pan of Jell-O®.
To follow COVID regulations, class sizes are limited to 8 students to practice social distancing. Masks are required for ages 5 and up. Classes must have a minimum of 4 students to occur. Tickets are available until 3 days prior to the event.
